Property Overview
Oxley Ridge and Westwood Rise were developed on the 20-hectare Tancred Abattoir site, which was purchased from a Receiver and redeveloped, after it had stood abandoned for many years. The Brisbane City Council eventually granted approval for a mixed-use development comprising standard residential and small lots, multi residential, light industrial, a shopping centre and a tavern.
The site faced many challenges including massive demolition and debris disposal, aircraft noise – being under the immediate flightpath of Archerfield Airport, contamination – including the removal of blue and white asbestos and hydrocarbons, tree clearing constraints and flood prone areas.
All of these issues were resolved with the project resulting in strong residential, townhouse and industrial sales and the construction of an Aldi shopping centre and tavern.
D&R Dunworth acted as the developer, project manager and marketer.
